Bank Account Requirements
Applicants seeking the Bulgaria Golden Visa must provide a bank reference from a credit institution located in an FATF-compliant jurisdiction, and the account must be in euros (€). If you do not currently hold an account in euros, you will need to open one. Please contact our team to confirm that your jurisdiction is FATF-compliant.
Note: Accounts held with financial institutions such as investment brokerage firms, investment funds, or wealth management companies are not considered equivalent to credit institutions. Only licensed banks are recognized as credit institutions for this purpose.
AML & PEP Compliance
Applicants are required to support their bank reference with documented proof of the source of their income. There are no restrictions on the type of income; however, each source must be supported by written evidence, and where applicable, the documents should be legalized.
For example, if the investment funds were generated through dividends, you must provide a legalized financial statement for the year in which the dividends were distributed, along with a resolution approving the dividend distribution.
Similar documentation requirements apply to politically exposed persons (PEPs). You must declare if you are a PEP or are closely associated with one.
Document Legalization
Documents must be certified and legalized in accordance with the jurisdiction in which they were issued. Some jurisdictions are exempt from legalization requirements due to bilateral agreements that waive the need for legalizing government-issued documents. Others may require an apostille, while some may require full legalization through an embassy or consulate.
